Play week (cont.)

I found this site really awesome! (I found it through the generator blog)

The 23rd Thing

Hm, overall I think this "blog Journey" was fun(ish). I really liked learning about using Flickr, and stuff like Youtube, Bebo etc, I already knew about, but was still nice to "relearn" everything about them. To be honest, the only things out of the journey that I'd use in the future if I had a blog is Flickr, Youtube, ebooks etc. Mainly because I still don't understand what RSS is and how I can use it, but that's probably just me, lol.

ebooks

TOTALLY AWESOME!!! Except it would be cool if they put more modern books up there as well, and children's authors. The drawbacks is that for Household Stories by the Brothers Grimm by Jacob Grimm and Wilhelm Grimm the ebook that I found didn't have any illustrations, which kinda kills the whole "children's fantasy" idea.

Podcast

Found heaps of podcasts regarding libraries. Trouble is... how to you add the RSS feed to your blog? Confused. Anyway, found this podcast that seemed to be interesting. http://feeds.feedburner.com/Teenlibrarian

Here's the "blurb": Topics and interviews of interest to librarians who work with teens.

Youtube

I really like youtube. I know its illegal but I like it when I am able to watch anime and movies on there. The bad thing is, the quality is quite bad and in the comments, there are always lots of spoilers...

My Space/Bebo/Face book

I have an account in all of the above :D Except I never use it. I think I like My Space the best because it has these fun quizes, like, "Would you beable to survive in the desert?" and other interesting quizes. Most of my friends and people I know are on Bebo, but personally, I find Bebo not worthwhile to spend one hour on...

Library 2.0/Web 2.0

What can I say? I am completely and utterly CONFUSED!!! I read the articles and went onto other blogs to see what they wrote, but I still don't get what Library 2.0 does. -sigh-

Delicious

I reckon this is better than search engines such as Googles, because when I typed in "Manga", it came up with pages of manga related stuff. Not random bits of information. Tagging makes a big difference! (Does Google have tags?)

PBwiki Learning 2.0

Lol, I entered an entry in the 'Favourite numbers' section.

And yes, I did not lie. I like all odd numbers except for 99.

Wikis

Everything I need to research one something, it's always Google/Yahoo> wikipedia.
It's a good site to use, and so much information!
Too bad sometimes I find contradictions between wikipedia and books I get out.

Technology reated stuff

Hm...
....
...
I like computers?
But my favourite piece of technology is... the MICROWAVE!
I won't be able to live without it, it heats up food, defrosts them... what more can a hungry, hungry girl wish for?

Question: is plastic considered technology?

Trading card maker

This is so easy-and fun!

If I had known there was this, I wouldn't of have spent two weeks on making a collector card for Info. Jokes! I won't cheat...-shifts eyes-.

Anyway, these sites are awesome!

This is so fun.. it's easier to use than Fireworks! And it gives the same effect!
Definitely the best so far.

LibraryThing

It was really interesting searching for books that I enjoyed reading/wanted to read and found out that alot of other people liked them too! (Hah! I'm not alone!) Yes, even One Piece, a shounen manga that a lot of otakus (people who are like me, obsessed with reading manga) don't like has 197 members!!!

Check out my library catalogue (I think that's what's it's called):

Confused

Feeds and stuff confuses me.

RSS, Feeds, etc

I tried it alright. I've subscribed to BlogLines. And now I'm posting about it. Actually, I don't have a clue about what to talk about , so I'll start explaining why I chose those particular feeds.

1) I'm an animal lover. (At home, I've got a puppy, a cat, a bird, three fish, millions of sparrows, a couple of rats.... you get the idea)
2) I like reading books. (Mainly fantasy, my sister calls me "immature")
3) I like anime/manga. (Mostly shonen, that means manga directed at boys. And yes, I'm a girl)
4) I like wacky quotes (Favourite one: If practice makes perfect, and nobody's perfect, why practice? I showed this to my mum, and she just gave a "humph" sound)

I'm running out of things to say. It is the holidays, it's okay to be slack....right?
